Happy New Year! Taking a Look at our 2024 Florist Highlights

Happy New Year! Taking a Look at our 2024 Florist Highlights

Hello 2025!

As we start this new year I wanted to take a look back on our first full year in business. 2024 was a rollercoaster of ups and downs as we got to grips on finding what works well for our little independent florist.

The year was packed full of weddings and events. We made some beautiful designs in 2024 and were lucky enough to visit lots of amazing venues to decorate based in the Manchester area and beyond.

Here are some of our favourites...

Puren & Tom at HOME

Not your average wedding venue, we loved the light that streamed in to the venue space on this summers day. It was a pink and red floral colour scheme for the quirky couple with gorgeous bold flowers and disco balls! Read more about this wedding here.

Danielle & Callum at Hooton Lodge

In August I headed out of Manchester, back to my home town of Rotherham to do my best friends wedding flowers. I still don't know how I managed to do a full floral wedding set up and be a bridesmaid but it was an experience I'll never forget!

Lizzie & Cieta at Stockport Town Hall

To kick off 2024 we made these bespoke wedding flowers for Lizzie & Cieta. For Cieta we custom made a lapel arrangement made with Orchids and Ranunculi's and for Lizzie we made a big statement bridal bouquet with funky flowers and trailing ribbons.

Sharean & Becky at Victoria Baths

One of my favourite overall weddings of the year filled with so much light and colour. The couple picked the most wonderful suppliers to make their day extra special and tailored to their personalities. We created a large floor centrepiece to be placed in front of their custom backdrop which included Dahlias, Roses and Delphiniums. We also made bridal, bridesmaid bouquets as well as buttonholes and table flowers.

Neva & Ben at Whitebottom Farm, Stockport

Leaving Summer and going into Autumn, Neva and Ben's wedding flower truly reflected the changing seasons. We created a large trailing bridal bouquet and a showstopping floral crown for Neva with matching buttonholes for Ben and the guests.

Naturium, Boots Product Launch at Fenix Restaurant

The client came to us and asked for modern autumnal flowers in tones of salmon, red and brown. We purchased these white sleek vases and created these gorgeous arrangements using Anthuriums, Nerine's, Flexed Roses, Physalis, Amaranthus, Chrysanthemums and Copper Beech. The result was amazing and you can see how well the flowers worked with the interiors of the restaurant.

Summer Corpoarte Rooftop Party at ABC Roofdeck and Dome

It was summer in the city as we did this installation at the ABC Roofdeck and Dome located in the heart of Manchester. We used blocks of colour and flower groupings to create these large pedestal designs and small posies to go in between light up letters which spelled the companies name. It looked like a great party as we went to de rig the flowers while the clients were drunkenly leaving, profusely thanking us as they went!

Horti-CULTURED Fashion show by Manchester Fashion Movement

An event focussed on sustainability and the excess waste created by the fashion industry. MFM are on a mission to highlight the environmental impact has had on the world from fast fashion by showcasing sustainable brands and ways of making clothes last longer. We collaborated with them on this event hosted at the beautiful RHS Bridgewater in summer. Standing in the hallway I looked at each models outfit just before they headed out onto the runway and quickly made them a mini bunch of grouped flowers to hold as they walked. The idea was to elevate the clothing by adding something botanical, giving a segue from the garden to the garments.

The Manchester Flower Festival

A main highlight of 2024, we were commissioned by CityCo Manchester BID to create a floral tribute to Caroline Aherne for the Manchester Flower Festival. The theme of the year was Manchester Icons. We collaborated with Manchester based artist Stan Chow to create this floral installation. Using moss and seasonal flowers we created a living frame for his portrait of Caroline. It included flowers such as Peonies, Allium, Anthuriums, Tulips and Orchids.

Circus Themed Corporate Event at Botany Bay

Last but not means least, in December we headed out to Botany bay in Chorley to install 15 Centrepieces for a circus themed event. We ditched the green and used primary colours only for these fun table centres. We made 3 different designs with circus elements such as animal podiums, top hats, canes and striped vases. This event was created by Square Fish Events. Click here to find out more about their services.

That completes our 10 favourite flowery events of 2024! Seeing all this has made me feel immensely proud as a new business owner and I can't wait to see what 2025 will bring. There are many weddings booked in and I hope we continue to do lots of quirky events. I have a few goals for the year, including doing a stage installation and organising an exhibition. I'm going to keep creating and keep dreaming big and I'll see you again for next years florist rundown!
